OCCRP’s Impact Department works to expand the use of investigative journalism by groups dedicated to protecting democracy and combatting corruption and organized crime.
Our aim is increased accountability. We want the actors who engage in wrongdoing to face legal consequences, and reform in the policies and practices that enable corruption and crime.
All OCCRP Impact activities are designed and conducted with guardrails in place that preserve our editorial independence and journalistic ethics.
OCCRP’s impact partners include a diverse mix of civil society organizations, think tanks, and universities from around the world. These partners use investigative reporting and data to conduct:
• Legal casework
• Advocacy
• Research and analysis
• Cross-stakeholder events and exchanges.
The Impact team also facilitates dialogue based on our published work, so that journalists and other key stakeholders, such as policymakers, law enforcement, and private sector firms, are better informed about leading issues in global crime and corruption.
At the forefront of this work is the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium (GACC), an initiative co-led by OCCRP and Transparency International, to foster cooperation between investigative journalists and civil society in the fight against corruption.

Alexandra is Chief of Impact and the director of the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium at OCCRP.
